General Information
Suvarnabhumi Airport has officially opened on September
28,2006 . The airport covers an approximate area of 8,000
acres ( 20,000 rais). Located at Km.15 on the east-bound
Bangna-Trat Highway in Bang Phli District of Samut Prakarn
province, the airport is about 25 kms. (40-60 minutes)
from Bangkok downtown.

In the future, a city link
between Phayathai-Makkasan-Suvarnabhumi Airport ( an
underground railway station underneath the passenger
terminal ) will be provided by the State Railway of
Thailand.
The
Passenger Terminal Complex (PTC)
The PTC has 10 entrance
gates accessed by 2 roads which are Inner Curb and Outer
Curb. It is combined with the connected 7 concourses,
annotated A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. Concourses A, B are for
domestic flights and the others are for international
flights. Passengers service for Domestic and International
passengers are handled under the same roof.

Flights
Aircraft docks at
the second floor of the concourse except in case
of aircraft remotely parked from where you have to
be bussed. You then proceed to the arrival lounge
for immigration formalities and on to the baggage
claims area. There are 17 baggage carousels for
international flights. After picking up your
baggage and exiting through Customs, you then
proceed to the arrival hall where you can find
information and service counters regarding
transportation, accommodation, money exchange and
tourism. The meeting point is on the third Floor .
For group travel, passengers have to go to the
first Floor to board their coach. Royal First
Class passengers will be accompanied through the
Immigration Fast Track Service. Royal Silk Class
passengers are also entitled to Immigration Fast
Track Service.
Royal Orchid Arrival Lounge is provided for Royal
First and Royal Silk passengers at the arrival
Hall to get themselves refreshed before going out
for business appointment. Snack and bevergage
corner, shower facilities, ironing services as
well as business corner are provided to ensure a
fresh start in Bangkok.

Aircraft operating
domestic flights will dock at second floor of the
concourse building. You then proceed to the
arrival lounge to pick up your baggage before
moving to the arrival hall. There are 5 baggage
carousels in the baggage reclaim area for domestic

to International
If you board from
Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Hat Yai, Krabi, or Phuket,
at SBIA you then proceed to International Transfer
facility on the second floor of concourse B.
Coming from other domestic airports or having
baggage checked only to Bangkok, at SBIA you must
disembark and proceed to the fourth floor for
check-in and through Passort and Customs Control
formalities.
International
to Domestic
If your final
destination is Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Hat Yai,
Krabi, or Phuket, you then proceed to Transfer
Check-in desk on the second floor of concourse B.
The Immigration and Customs formalities will be
done at your destination airport. Transferring to
other domestic airports or having baggage checked
only to Bangkok , you must land, pick up your
baggage, proceed through Passport and Customs
Control formalities and check in at Row C on the
fourth floor of PTC. |
